As direct descendants of Edmund Littlefield, the first settler in Wells, the Chase family have been farming the land at Merriland Ridge since the early 1700’s.  Matthew and Richard’s Great-grandfather, Guy Littlefield, had an extensive Apple Orchard on the farm in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The Orchard has been recently updated with great new varieties like Honeycrisp, Gala and Macoun.  The Apples will be available at the Farm Store and for U-pick beginning in August.
